Aloha, it was National Day in Singapore recently. To be honest, it is a lot of silly fanfare and would rather our homes on a daily basis become a warmer and more relaxed place to live in. Sharing our National Day song which is meant to invoke nationalistic pride lol and just realised that the National Day song below was composed roughly around the time I was born or slightly after! ) ; and some songs from my primary school music lessons and songs that I love. Hope that this post is interesting to you, my reader and sparks some inspiration and relaxed vibes. Happy mid-week yet!

Though old, this’s my favourite National Day song yet, it kind of has a village- vibe to it. Very idealistic. Here, in Singapore schools, they say the national anthem and the national song everyday to engender pride in our country. Hahaha. It’s so important to know what the kids/ your kids are learning in schools which is perhaps a frequent source of contention and power struggle!!! Thanks for listening and reading. Enjoy the songs!!
My music teacher taught us these silly songs in our primary school.
To be honest, am so embarrassed about how I remember the tune of these songs. Had no idea that “How much is that doggie in the window?” is sung by American singer, Patti Page. Growing up on my tiny island, in my childhood, just thought all these songs were Singapore songs. Hahaha
Finally, some evergreen songs that I love that are so cheesy but still good.
