The Surprising Link between Land Space and Democracy?

Some thoughts that have swum around in my head. Let me know your thoughts. =))

Does the size of the residential dwellings in the society have a direct inversely proportional relationship with the level of democracy consciousness in the country?

Living in a high-rise flat/apartment building, one has to curtail your behaviour, one can’t have too many loud pets, etc. Over time, you also develop a collective mindset where you have to be conscious of other people and not stand out. I wonder if there are places with many high-rise apartments where the democratic way of life still prevails. As a matter of fact, high-rise apartments are usually very expensive too.

Thought no.2:

Why are cars so expensive where I live ( a few hundred thousands dollars), way more than the cost of an apartment where many of us live?

Is it because when we are all herded on public transportation, the human spirit is crushed? Is it an acceptable way of life not to have a car of your own which can travel for long distances? Or am I wrong to think this? X
