Mini creative story of Singapore’s Growth in Food Pictures

Background:

Singapore is an island country and a global financial hub in Asia on the equator. It takes about an hour to drive from one end of the country to the other end.

Once upon a time, the island state of Singapore sprouted into being as a humble breakfast dish (Sugared butter toast!). Its founder’s dream was to become a sophisticated Asian dish respected by all.

But first, Singapore must go through stages of metamorphosis to get strong enough to reach its final stage. Thus, from buttered toast, it became the roti prata dish next as it needs to flip, flip, flip through various changes like roti prata (a sweet stretchy dough roll) .

Alas, according to the economic growth forecast, Singapore’s growth was not on target. Thus, it needed to change fast and what better to morph into than the flexible and popular frothy milk tea drink called Teh Tarik, poured sometimes from a height of 1 metre or 3.2 ft.

With the stretchy prowess of Teh Tarik, it reached its annual economic growth. Alas, after morphing into Teh Tarik, it has over-stretched and worn out ligaments.

Listening to yet another macro-economic command shouted out, the young Singapore was told to showcase itself as a unique melting pot of different Asian cultures. It aspired to morph into a sophiscated-looking dish but it was worn-out from long work hours so it morphed into a messy, delicious, expensive and spicy chilli crab dish instead; and it was contented for now for it presented the most important criteria of its appraiser, the high price value of the chilli crab dish which would rake in lots of dollars. Yum yum.
